Do You know who to help?
The Good News First”
This year the Wright Place TV Show will pick 2 nonprofit organizations to support with media exposure and cash to help them do what they do best. This will happen at our 6th Annual Invitation -Only
Event in April.
The Bad news;
I don’t know exactly who to help. Ever since I lost my dog, I have been going to shelters to check and see if she was turned in there. It’s heart breaking to see all those lost and unwanted pets. I read articles about vets who come home from the war sick and wind up homeless. That is a terrible way to treat those who risk their lives for our country. I watch TV ( I bet you didn’t know that) and see homeless kids who don’t know what pajamas are and foster kids who are homeless the day they turn 18 because the ‘AGE-OUT’ of the system. My family support Literacy with the Bob Lucas Library and Literacy Center in Altadena, California.
I am a little overwhelmed at who we can best help, so I would love your input.
Visit www.wrightplacetv.com/tea.htm and tell me who really deserves our support this year!

Calico Ghost Town’s Civil War Weekend 2008
Now this is passion, you dress up, participate.. man
what dedication... I wonder if any Buffulo Soldiers will be there?
I actually know some ( guys who reinact it)
Imagine yourself under martial law in a town occupied by the Confederate army. Suddenly a cannon blasts, smoke fills the air, and a hundred Union soldiers come rushing in. Before you can turn to run, a battle is raging before your very eyes.
Calico Ghost Town will come alive with Civil War battles, the sounds of bugles, and the thunder of cannon and musket fire on February 16, 17, and 18th, 2008. Calico, in partnership with the American Civil War Society, invite you to come and witness historic presentations, troop inspections, artillery demonstrations, period fashion shows, military battles, and much more! Battles will occur daily at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Before the battles begin, watch as General Grant and President Lincoln inspect their troops. After the battle is over, you can find President Lincoln reading The Gettysburg Address in central Calico. If the battles are too loud for your little ones, make sure to stop by the children’s social or the craft project booth.
Calico is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Saturday and Sunday admission to the event is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for youth (6-15), and free for children 5 and under. Join us on Monday for a special enhanced weekend price of $10 per car load, $5 for motorcycles with two riders, and $3 for motorcycles with one rider.
Make sure to join us in Calico over President’s Day Weekend as this Civil War reenactment weekend truly spotlights the reality of camp life and transports you back to the 19th Century. For more information on Calico’s Civil War Weekend 2008 or for camping reservations, please call 1-800-TO-CALICO or visit us on the Web at www.calicotown.com.
